What People Are Asking Us

Q: What is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP®)?

To receive this credential, the candidate must first have three years of financial planning experience and a bachelor’s degree, or five years of financial planning experience. Q: How much does it cost for a first appointment?
A: The initial half hour, free appointment is an opportunity for you to meet us, and we to meet you. We want you to feel comfortable and enter a relationship with us built on trust and confidence.

Q: What should I bring to my first meeting?
A:
If you make an appointment a couple of weeks in advance of your first meeting, we can email you a confidential questionnaire (download) and a checklist of what kinds of information/statements that might be useful in the initial consultation. The more details we have in advance of your consultation, the better our initial consultation will be. All information is held in strictest confidence.

Q: What should I bring to my first meeting if I represent a company?
A: You should bring the following items to your initial consultation.

  1. Most recent investment statements and performance reports.
  2. Investment policy statement, if available.
  3. Fiduciary adviser and service provider agreement, if applicable.
  4. Investment committee by-laws.

Q: Do you pick individual stocks?
A: We are not "stock pickers." Our investment policy is based on proven long-term strategies that reduce risk and provide an enhanced level of return. Have we ever traded equities? Yes, on occasion. Those occasions were appropriate for a client's individual circumstances.

Q: What makes you different from another financial planning or investment management firm?
A: We are serious about our tag line: Expect Moore. We are not general practitioners. We are comprehensive wealth managers, who are experienced and committed to giving our clients the best customer service available. We hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards. We do our research and our recommendations are never without deep consideration. We understand the importance of communication and make it a policy to respond within two business days at the longest and most often the very same day.

Q: Do you work with corporations, non-profits and associations?
A: Yes. We assist small businesses, non-profit and associations with the implementation of defined benefit plans, defined contributions plans, 401(k), 403(b), deferred compensation, profit sharing, succession planning and buy-sell agreements.

Q: Can you help me with stock option planning?
A:
Yes, in fact, we have assisted many corporate executives in their stock option and concentrated equity position strategies.

Q: How are you compensated for investment management and financial planning services?
A:
We provide investment services and financial planning on a fee based compensation platform, offered through Commonwealth Financial Network. When it is in the clients' best interest, Moore Wealth will present the client with a commission or fee for services option.

Q: Do you have account minimums for new clients?A: Yes and No. Our practice is designed to assist clients with $250,000 in investable assets. However, we offer tiers of service to those clients who are in the accumulation stage of building wealth. For a potential new client with less than $250,000 in investable assets, our recommendation is for the individual to continue on saving mode until which time assets accrue. To get on the right track, it may be prudent to engage us for a financial consultation at intervals for suggestions and advice. Since every situation is different, call our office to find out the specifics.

Q: Do you prepare tax returns or draft legal documents?
A: We do not prepare tax returns or legal documents. We do, however, work closely with the client's CPAs and attorneys. We can refer you to a local CPA or lawyer, based on your needs and their specialties.

Q: If we decide not to engage your services, what do you do with my financial information?
A:
If this should be your choice, you can either take your documents with you at the close of the meeting or pick them up from our office. We will also shred them, if this is your request. If you are undecided, we will keep your documents on file for a year. Then they are moved to storage. Remember we keep all information shared in strictest confidence.
